Spetses is the island that has almost everything, with the exception of ruins. The island is covered mainly with olive groves and Pine woods which are what gave the island its original name Pitoussa.
There are some large and many small secluded beaches, also rocky coves fringed by the ever present pine trees. Most of the larger beaches have tavernas on them or situated nearby, so it’s not necessary to move very far all day.

Day time is a lazy time, the evening is when Spetses really comes to life.
The tavernas are too numerous to mention, serving anything from Spaghetti to Pizza to local Greek dishes such as Moussaka. Fresh fish is always plentiful – Some tavernas specializing only in fish dishes.
There are many Cocktail bars in the town serving a wide selection of drinks, some which will make your mind boggle.

Now that more people have chosen the island it is capable of catering for practically anyone and there are few facilities that it lacks.
Spetses has two natural harbours. The Old Harbor is now preserved for boat building and is peaceful and quiet. There are a few bars and tavernas where you may sit and gaze at the many yachts moored alongside each other.

The New Harbor, also known as the Dapia, where you will arrive, is generally considered to be the centre of things on Spetses. It’s from here that the many boats leave every morning taking passengers to the beaches round the other side of the island and mainland beaches of Kosta or Hinitsa. These boats wait all day and bring you back in the late afternoon. They are a fairly inexpensive and are a delightful way to travel.

Beaches

The wonderful clear water provides a superb playground for swimming, water skiing, wind surfing, parasailing and snorkeling.

The nearest beach to 7 Islands Hotel is Paradise Beach which is only a 10 minute walk. Perhaps the most popular beach is Anarghiri Beach, a long sandy/shingle beach with its own taverna away from the hustle and bustle of the town.
Nearby is Paraskevi Beach where nude bathing is widely practiced although not officially permitted. Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You!

Zogheria Beach can be found at the other side of the island and can be reached by the bus which runs every 30 minuets from the Dapia.
